Crowd At The Fair by SUMITO SAKAKIBARA
"What is sovereign in fact is to enjoy the present time without having anything else in view but this present time" Georges Bataille
One of the most complex flipbook ever created with "Synchronic Recipro-Inclusive (non-time) Animation" (S.R.I.A) consist of 24 frames of still images by Sumito Sakakibara.
In his work, the motifs metamorphose in repetitive movements creating simultaneous, multiple point of view he refers to as "Synchronic Recipro-Inclusive Zone". Found only in dynamic, annular time scale, each element reveals themselves as avatars that holds both Reci (before) and Pro (after) properties simultaneously while nature of the element is actually just “one” (or “all” as you interpret it) creating logically incomprehensible dynamic state of being.
S.R.Z aborts linear time and capsizes hierarchy while individual and the whole supplementing and pledging each other in a dynamics and reveals a state of being where matters do not belong to neither of the idea “individual” nor ”the whole”, and shows vividly that matters do not “exist”, but “occur” in an instant moment.
This simple, humble device that existed over a century since the begging of the media demonstrates and questions us the very foundation of our world through its holographic nature and shows how matters can occur in a non linear time concept in its simplest physical form.
